Researching short film: Knock Knock

The film builds tension through minimal dialogue and relies heavily on sound design and cinematography to create a sense of dread. The film explores themes of isolation, fear if the unknown, and the psychological impact of being alone in a potentially dangerous situation.

Lighting: The film has low lighting to cast shadows and create a sense of mystery and unease. Use of film  rooms and flickering lights.

Camera Angles: Used close-ups to capture the protagonist's fear and wide shots to emphasize her isolation. the use of handheld camera movements adds a sense of realism and urgency

Ambient Sounds: The film makes excellent use of ambient sounds, such as creaking floors, distant thuds, and the titular knocking, to build tension. The sound design is crucial in creating an immersive experience for the audience.

 - Silence: Strategic use of silence amplifies the impact of sudden noises, making the scares more effective. 

 Editing: - Pacing: The editing is tight, with quick cuts during moments of high tension and slower pacing to build suspense. This contrast keeps the audience on edge. - Transitions: Smooth transitions between scenes help maintain the flow of the story while keeping the audience engaged.

 Performance: - Acting: The lead actress delivers a convincing performance, portraying a range of emotions from curiosity to sheer terror. Her reactions are natural and help the audience connect with her plight.

Special Effects:  The film relies on practical effects rather than CGI to create its scares, which adds a layer of authenticity. For example, the knocking sounds and moving objects are achieved through practical means. 

 Set Design: - Environment: The setting of the house is meticulously designed to look both familiar and unsettling. Everyday objects are used to create a sense of normalcy that is gradually disrupted by the supernatural occurrences. These techniques come together to make "Knock Knock" a memorable and impactful short film.
