Peer Review

Image
Hey Bloggers! Apart of our final task is a peer review, so I decided to have my sister watch it. She took media studies years ago, so I thought her opinion would be somewhat valid. I first told her the pitch and mini description so she could have an idea of what the movie would be about. Kind of like how Netflix, puts that those little summary things for movies. I believe they're called "blurbs", but I might be wrong. Anyways, she was intrigued with the pitch and wanted to finally see the video. Before I had to warn her though that this is only our first round of editing. After letting her watch it she was really liked it . One because she knows my friends in real life, so there might be some bias there, but still. She said that the twist of Paige taking her "friends" out one by one was unexpected, which is what the group was going for. She also pointed out the brush transitioning to the knife. She really liked that part, but she said he could look smoother. I

Production Blog: Final Task

Image
Hey Bloggers! This blog is just going to be kind of able my "journey" while working on my final task. There's a lot of stress when working on this. Yes, it's in a group, but still. Because not only are you working on this, but also you have to do other school work. It can be taxing, but the diploma is totally worth it. I noticed that a lot of my peers in that class had already been like 60% done, while I was at like 30%. Seeing that kind of stressed me and also acted that an extra motivation. I've also seen others whose group mates are literally sitting back while the work is being completed for them. That sucks for those people, but it makes me also be really glade that I'm in the group that I'm in. As a group communication doesn't lack for us which is a strong contributor the success. Ok so when it came to working on the final task. I made sure when filming I completely free on those days, because when you're working on limited time, the produc

Editing Blog: Part 2

Image
Hey Blogger! In the previous blog, I stoped the editing at the photo montage. Now we continue. Not even going to hold you, I procrastinated wanting to edit. Then I remember this work isn't just for me, it's a group grade. That way of thinking gave me an extra push to finally continue. When I was actually going back and looking the footage was there, a lot needed cuts. There just a bunch of clips of us laughing and breaking character. It was so funny to go and look back on. Moving forward the editing became a group collective. Maria worked on the title sequence, since it was her amazing idea. I just added the scene of her pulling out the knife and walking then I cut it to the scene of her looking Alyssa. For this part I kept it simple since, that's what most movies do when it's a scene like that. Also, since there's a tilt and pan for those scenes, additionally things weren't really necessary. Alyssa took on editing the following scenes, so I don't really kno

Editing Blog

Image
Hey Bloggers! Since filming was completed, it's time for editing now. I can't even lie, by this point I felt a bit overwhelmed. Although editing was worked on as a group, I still felt a bit a stress. I just think since there's a bit of pressure of it. I know since I'm not that familiar with editing that's why I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. It is a difficult process. Well not difficult, but challenging. None of us are that familiar with editing, other than the videos that were worked on earlier in the year. For this task, there's already an idea of how the editing should be split up. To keep it  bit simple, I decided to start with editing the photo montage scene. For the montage scene, beforehand Maria printed out pictures that could be used. During the photo montage, it's showing the rage of Paige. Her character is rips herself from the rest of the group, then her name "Paige Maring" pops up and fades out. Then I added the clip of her circlin

Filming Blog: Alyssa house and Park

Image
Hey Bloggers! Like I said in the last blog the filming was broken up into 2 days. For filming, the scenes that were filmed were the last stuff on the storyboard. I can't express how much I fought to go to Alyssa's house. I wasn't supposed to be able to go since I didn't have a ride. My sister ended being able to. I was so glad because my group can't be more behind. Filming started with the scene where Paige was brushing her hair while crying. This scene, just like the other one, took a little while to film. Literally trying to keep a straight face was hard and I kept laughing, so I had to eventually just leave the room. When they were done filming the focus was on the "Revenge" title shot. Maria gave the idea for the title shot. For our title shot Maria's idea was so good, I ate it up. Even though it's not the first time a title scene was filmed like this, I loved it for the groups video. So after Paige brushes her hair she's placing her brush

Fliming blog: At Alyssa's house!

Image
Hey Bloggers! In my last blog I mentioned how some of my group members were too sick to film. Now they're better and able to film. For filming Maria brought up the idea to use her phone for filming. She has the iPhone 13, I believe, so the quality is much better. Since people were sick, the group is a bit behind. As a group a decision was made to cut the filming into 2 days. On the first day we filmed the first 15 scenes from the storyboard.  Filming was at Alyssa's house since her house is in the middle for everyone. Paige was also there filming with us, since she was going to be apart of the final task. It was kind of hard to be "serious" while filming. It's hard trying to be serious with my friends. It's a funny group so we get a little side tracked at times. I was filming the scene when she had to feel like mad/sad. It was so difficult to film because like we're not actresses. I couldn't film the scene since I kept laughing first, so Maria had to

Picking the Music!

Image
Hey Bloggers! Even though some are sick, they grind can't stop, lol. So I decided to start looking for some music to use for the final task. My teacher introduced a way to use more mainstream music. Since  popular music will usually get copyrighted when you use it without permission. When my teacher told me that you have to email the companies before hand, I made to do just that. Well at least attempted. I did some research on my own before bringing the idea up to my group members. I wanted to look for music that would fit the vibe for the video. The Company that owned the song was "Capital Records", but as I was looking for songs I saw music on YouTube. The song on YouTube was labeled as copyright free, so I decided to give it a listen. I was hooked, so I decided to not email Capital Records, even though the song was pretty good, but the one I found was better.  After finding the music from YouTube, I looked into more music on there. I found 3 potential songs that I wou

Production Blog

Image
Hey Bloggers! I haven't done a production blog in so long, not since the last project. I cannot wait to write and post these upcoming blogs. Originally, my group and I were supposed to film at the end of January, but we had some minor setbacks. First, two of the group members got sick so we couldn't film any scenes. We found that it would be inconvenient to begin filming because our plan was that whoever is going to be in the scene that is being recorded will be the cameraman so, we chose to wait until everyone was ready to film. Now we were ready to film... or so we thought. After they had recovered, one of the group members got in trouble. To overcome this obstacle, we decided to film the scene where they were not in. We could not wait any longer, we had to begin filming as soon as possible. Due to these circumstances the first scene filmed was the photo montage of us. This was the perfect way to start the filming process since it did not require anyone to be physically pres
