Production Blog: Short film


 

Hey bloggers! As I mentioned many times, I worked on this project in a group of just one. Let me open up on my thoughts and experience with doing that.

I can say I’m glad I worked alone. It allowed me to get a better understanding of this course. Also, with technology as it was very important to complete this. Although I procrastinated, it showed me that nowadays the softwares provided are very efficient. CapCut was a great editing software to use as it allowed me to quickly and efficiently create a film. 

There were a lot of downsides to it as well. Since it was a group of one, I had to find people that fit my storyline. I originally planned for a boy to play my love interest, but the people I depended on weren’t able to. This really affected my project as that was the main plot. But in the end I decided to make my girl friend play the role, and I'm going to make her a representation of trans inclusion. It was too late to switch because I previously filmed scenes where I used the pronouns “he” and “him”. 

When it came to putting it all together, that was difficult. It was hard doing work anticipated to be done in the group. I already kind of expected that, but actually going through the motions really showed me. When I would have a hiccup it was only on me to fix it. I didn’t really have much people to ask for advice whenever. Also, I didn’t get any help on anything. It was like a self learning journey. One thing I truly take away from this is time is not by our side. I’m glad u was able to learn this though because I truly helped me work diligently. 

But all and all this was a much needed lesson and experience. One I’m glad I learned and went through. That’s it for this one, Bloggers!

          Hey bloggers, its Laudjah. It's time to crunch down on how I'm going to do the production of my commerical. Let's get into to how I' m actually going to film it. I'm going to be using my iPhone 11 to film anything that needs to be filmed. I don't have a professional camera to use, but the iPhone is literally just as good as an average camera. For the actual editing, I'm going to be using an app called "CapCut". I've used this app before and used it before. It did go viral on TikTok for it being a easy tool to edit and it really is easy to use, like A+ to those who made it. Final Task Group Blog

  Hey Bloggers! Let’s get into the details of my Final Task. For the project I’m gonna be working with some friends. I’m gonna work with Alyssa, she’s in my class, and Maria, she’s in a different class. I’m working with Alyssa because I’ve known her since freshman, she’s one of my good friends, and I know she’s reliable. Maria and I just started becoming close this year and I feel like she’s a good person to work with. This wasn’t the original plan for the people I was going to work with. A friend that Alyssa and I know we’re planning on working together, but they chose to work with other people. It was slightly more out of convenience. Since he worked with them perviously on the music video, he decided to just stay with them for the final task. So I get it, I guess. Editing Blog: Part 2

 Hey Blogger! In the previous blog, I stoped the editing at the photo montage. Now we continue. Not even going to hold you, I procrastinated wanting to edit. Then I remember this work isn't just for me, it's a group grade.That way of thinking gave me an extra push to finally continue. When I was actually going back and looking the footage was there, a lot needed cuts. There just a bunch of clips of us laughing and breaking character. It was so funny to go and look back on. Moving forward the editing became a group collective. Maria worked on the title sequence, since it was her amazing idea. I just added the scene of her pulling out the knife and walking then I cut it to the scene of her looking Alyssa. For this part I kept it simple since, that's what most movies do when it's a scene like that. Also, since there's a tilt and pan for those scenes, additionally things weren't really necessary.
