Common Camera Angles, Movements, and Shots (CAMS):


Common Camera Angles- Eye level, high angle, and low angle
Common Camera Movements- Tilt, tracking shot, and zoom
Common Camera Shots- Long shot, medium shot, two-shot, over the shoulder shot, and close up shot
Common Mis-En-Scene:
Costume- casual clothing or elegant clothing likes suits and dresses.
Lighting/Color Design- Warm and soft lighting. The color red is often incorporated into the film to indicate love and passion
Acting- Common acting in romance films are acting in love or sad due to the conflict in the film.
Makeup- Soft and natural makeup is common
Props- Flowers, gifts, letters, and rings are the most common props in romance films.
Set- Romance commonly take place in scenic areas likes beaches, country sides, and big cities. 
Common Editing:
Cross cuts are often used in romance films. Cross cuts are used to portray an event that takes place in two different locations. 
Common Sound:
Diegetic sound and dialogue are frequently used in romance films. Dialogue between the characters is used to convey ideas to the audience. In addition, dialogue creates a relationship between the characters. Voiceovers are also often used in romance films to provide additional information to the audience that may not have been stated in the dialogue.

Elements we liked:
We liked the Mis-en-scene more specifically the props and acting. The acting in romance films captures the audience's attention, making them root for the couple. The props are well thought out based on the storyline and the characters likes and interests. 
Elements we did not like: 
We did not like some of the dialogue that is included in romance films. Often times the dialogue is sappy or cheesy, making the movie less enjoyable.
